Step 14 The BOMB

This scene was a big headache from its conception. There were many ideas, but how does one film an explosion without pyrotechnic effects, no after effects program and no budget? Google search hunts for ideas proved unsuccessful. Finally a combination of flash and avid filters provided a crude but obvious explosion. Apart from that Ben Dage becomes the bomb face with a black head mask and the bomb strapped to his suitcase. Always create leitmotifs in any film. The luggage accompanies Ben Dage throughout the film, so does his characteristic hat. It is only when he leaves the luggage unattended does the bomb blow up and only now do we see a forsaken hat.
