Step 6 Train Shoot

The Train shoot was the first big test at the way the film was going to be shot and to get a realistic feel of the way the film would look. Trail and error animation and shots paved the way for future Filming. Initially a moving film as a backdrop seemed like a good idea, but it was difficult to animate the puppets, even with a lot of rehearsing. Eventually a fixed background was used when more puppet animation was needed and a moving background when the puppets needed no animation or the animation was a simple drag, twist or pull.
